The unique sound, energy and look of the legendary rock band Deep Purple comes to life when Highway Star takes the stage.

With many years of experience, the members of Highway Star recreate the excitement and feel of Deep Purple’s spectacular live performances right down to the authentic instruments and stage clothes. The glowing Hammond organ, the Fender Strats, the wall of Marshall stacks, the mirror balls and smoke machines all serve to bring to life raucous renditions of Purple classics such as ‘Space Truckin’, ‘Woman from Tokyo’, ‘Fireball’ and of course the legendary ‘Smoke on the Water’. All of Deep Purple’s numerous hits, along with many of their lesser known songs, are faithfully reproduced note for note to give the audience a more than convincing performance of a live DP show. People of all ages and walks of life, including musicians and industry professionals, have commented on how authentic and genuine Highway Star looks and sounds. Many times people have said: “That was absolutely amazing, I thought that was the real Deep Purple!”

Highway Star has performed on many stages, from outdoor festivals, rock clubs and pubs to fundraisers and memorial concerts. With an abundance of songs to choose from the band is able to adjust the set-list to just about any occasion.

Deep Purple’s exciting heavy driven music was unparalleled in the Seventies and with hit albums such as ‘Machine Head’, ‘In Rock’ and ‘Made in Japan’ they dominated the rock scene and created huge legions of fans the world over. Their international success has continued through the 80’s and 90’s to the present day. The members of Deep Purple have all gained a reputation of being virtuoso musicians, from Jon Lord’s majestic heavy keyboards, Ian Gillan’s extraordinary vocals and Ritchie Blackmore’s classic serpentine guitar riffs to the hard-hitting rhythm section of Roger Glover and Ian Paice. In recent years Blackmore and Lord have been replaced by Steve Morse and Don Airey respectively, players that are nothing less then world class themselves.

The musicians in Highway Star are accomplished players in their own right, having played in various original and cover bands for many years. All of them take a lot of pride in perfecting the look and stage moves of their counterparts in the classic Deep Purple line-up.
If you want a high-energy, all out rock ‘n roll show with the music and attitude of one of Rocks all time greatest bands then Highway Star is the band to see.
